NFL Dreams: Big Days in March By Nick Hill/Special to The Call, Du Quoin Evening Call Monday, February 18, 2008 Hello to everyone back in DuQuoin, not much has changed since I last wrote you. I’m still here in Cincinnati working out everyday. I have a little less than a month to prepare for my pro day at the University of Illinois on March 12. I will also have a pro day at SIU on March 18. I wasn’t invited to the combine that starts this week in Indianapolis, so a strong performance at my pro days will be very important. I am excited about the opportunity to work out at U of I because they have a couple big prospects in this years draft, which means there will be a lot more scouts there than a normal pro day. At a pro day you complete a number of timed drills and scouts put you through individual drills as well. This is where I will take all the drops and make all the throws the scouts want to see me make. The next few weeks I will stay focused on trying to prepare myself so I can be the best I can be during these workouts. This past week the Bears called and scheduled my visit to Chicago. I will fly there on March 19 to meet with the head coach, offensive coordinator, general manager, and quarterback coach. I will also take a physical with their team doctors. This is an opportunity I am very thankful for and looking forward to. However, during this process there are many things that are uncertain, and a lot of things that are out of my control. All I can worry about are the things that I can control, keep my faith and let the other stuff take care of itself. As things happen I will let everyone know. Until next time, take care! Nick Hill
