Wondering about a player, a past game or another issue involving the Bears? Senior writer Larry Mayer answers a variety of e-mail questions from fans every day on ChicagoBears.com.

Do you think the Bears will go with one of the two undrafted rookies they recently signed as their third quarterback this season or will they try to add a veteran that’s cut by another team?

That’s a tough call because the Bears want to develop a young quarterback and think they have two promising prospects in undrafted free agents Caleb Hanie and Nick Hill. But on the other hand, history says there’s at least a decent chance of the third-string quarterback playing this season and an experienced veteran seemingly would have a better chance of succeeding. If I had to guess, I’d say the Bears would stick with one of their rookies as the third guy. Regardless, it’ll be interesting to see who becomes available when teams start making cuts in training camp.
