WITHOUT A HITCH

The Dorados offense did not seem to suffer too much from the absence of star wideout Rod Windsor last week.

Bret Smith, who is usually the No. 2 receiver when Windsor's on the field, stepped up against the Sharks, hauling in seven catches for 94 yards and four scores.

"It was a privilege," Smith said. "It felt good that I could help my team come through with the win."

Receiver/running back/kick returner/defensive back Craig Turner chipped in five grabs for 92 yards.

Quarterback Nick Hill, who completed 15 of 28 passes for 248 yards with five touchdowns and one interception, was glad to see the Dorados' other receivers play well in Windsor's absence.

"It's good for our team right now," Hill said. "We want Rod to be out there, but a lot of other guys are stepping up, gaining more confidence. And then when Rod does come back, it's going to help us that much more."
